On August 10th, the majority of the scraps we gathered during our visit were leafy greens cabbage leaves and lettuce trimmings from making, what seemed to be, delicious kimchi. Although we were only able to collect 0.8 kilograms, the sheer volume of the vegetable scraps ensured that we were still making a significant step towards sustaibility.

With this visit, we were able to prevent methane emissions and redirected a significant amount of organic matter from landfills by preventing these greens from becoming waste and using them for something better. As part of our continuous sustainability efforts, we have turned these greens into nutrient-rich fertilizer, which we will be delivering to farms in the Kanto region.

This visit served as an indication that sustainability encompasses all waste that we keep out of the trash can and give back to the earth, not just kilograms 🌱.
